| The new SUZUKI RMZ250 is a far cry from the old DR250 in fact the only thing they share is that they are both SUZUKI’s and they are both 250’s. It like comparing a Model A to GT40 yes they are both Ford’s but it ends there. This bike was developed by both Suzuki and Kawasaki. We are very excited to see both of these great companies team up to build better dirt bikes. The bike that they ended up with has shown great promise it has won at GNCC’s it has won at MX. With rides using this bike for off-road and MX we wanted to offer a kit that would increase the performance and make it easier to ride in both disciplines. We first built a 270 and found that the 270 offers good Bottom power but it was super strong in the mid and top end. It seemed to work great on the MX TRACK but in the woods or on a Super Cross Track we wanted more bottom end. So we fired up Thumper’s boring bore and the 300 kit was born. The 300 had great bottom power. The power is very smooth and pulls hard into the mid to top end. The other benefit was the 300 to not rev as fast as the stock 250 or our 270. This was a big plus in the woods and slick conditions. Many of our vet riders where they are not limited by engine displacement run the 300 kit for moto as well. They find that the 250’s are down on power on the starts against the bigger bikes and the 300 give them just the help they need to get better starts.
