| It seems like a life time ago that DOUG HENRY won the 97 SUPER CROSS CHAMPIONSHIP on the all new Yamaha 400cc 4 stroke -- when its only been 11 years now . We forget that Yamaha was leading the way for the new wave of 4 strokes that we all are riding now. In those 11 years a lot has changed, all the other manufacturers now offer 4 strokes but Yamaha was the first in these modern days to offer a full on race bike that was a 4 stroke. This new Yamaha was great news for us, the vision that Dick Burleson had way back in 1994 was coming true. That vision was that we would all be riding 4 strokes in the future. At this time, Thumper had been building big bore kits and performance parts for the DRs and XRs. And we all where even racing these bikes but they had 20 year old technology. With the introduction of this new bike, Yamaha changed everything. Over the years of building big bore kits for all the Yamaha’s we have found that these bikes have great reliability so we work hard to make sure our kits offer that same great reliability. The Yamaha kits are like all the rest of our kits we not only look for better performance but we also want to make sure that the power makes the bike easier to ride. With all our Yamaha kits we look to increase bottom and mid power with out hurting the top end. We build these kits to have huge bottom power that is smooth and easy to ride. We test many different combinations to find way works the best. By doing this we can help you get the right power for the type of riding you do.
